New Elementary on Way at AW Schools

(Whitehouse, OH) Plans are moving forward to build a new elementary in the Anthony Wayne school district.

A new Whitehouse Primary School will be built in a field near the existing school, part of $44 million worth of capital improvements approved by Anthony Wayne votes last November.

Preliminary designs show a single-level building with separate wings for older and younger students, a separate section for preschool and kindergarten students, a gym, and a lunchroom.

A new operations building is part of the construction plan, too, with a warehouse, truck bay, technology storage, and maintenance shop near the exisiting bus parking along state route 64. All A-W school buildings will get new entrances with enhanced security.

The new school year starts today.
