The popular kids' retail chain Toys 'R' Us filed for bankruptcy yesterday.
The reason was because the company has unsuccessfully been able to win competition from other online stores and discount marts. Right before holiday season kicks in, where business is the most happening, the store still has 1,600 stores and 64,000 employees.
However, Toy 'R' Us is not coming to an end just yet. "While Monday's decision does not necessarily mean it is game over for Toys 'R' Us, it brings to a close a turbulent chapter in the iconic company's history," Neil Saunders, managing director of GlobalData Retail said.
