Dennis Kucinich Announces Run For Governor

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The field of candidates looking to become Ohio's next governor has become a little more crowded.

Former Congressman and mayor of Cleveland Dennis Kucinich announced Wednesday that he is jumping into the gubernatorial race as a Democratic candidate.

Framing his campaign around the statement "We The People", Kucinich told supporters that it was time to demand results from an unresponsive state government.

"This is the moment when people must take back their government. This is the moment when there must be a shift of power from an uncaring, unresponsive state government in Columbus to the power of we the people," Kucinich said.

He enters a crowded Democratic field, featuring former head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Richard Cordray, former state representative Connie Pillich, state senator Joe Schiavoni and Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court Bill O'Neill.
