Meteor Spotted Streaking across NW Ohio Sky

(Toledo, OH) Call it the "northern Ohio lights"-- and it sure lit up social media last night.

A massive fireball lit up the night sky just after 8 p.m.-- and  National Weather Service officials and astronomy experts believe it was a meteor streaking overhead, causing a sonic boom and green-and-white flash across the sky.

The National Weather Service in Detroit tweeted that the U.S. Geological Survey confirmed the meteor caused a magnitude 2.0 earthquake.

People posted dashcam video, home surveillance video, and cellphone video of the burst of light on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and other sites. The meteor was apparently based somewhere near Detroit.
