Worley Attorneys Make Last-Ditch Death Plea

(Wauseon, OH) Defense attorneys are asking a Fulton County judge one last time to spare a convicted killer's life.

The defense team for 58-year old James Worley filed a court motion, making one last plea to keep Sierra Joughin's killer off death row. A jury last week sentenced Worley to die for the kidnapping and killing of the former Evergreen High School and University of Toledo student, burying her in a Fulton County cornfield on his property.

Lawyers are citing Worley's mental illness-- pointing to a dual diagnosis of ADHD, paranoia, and obsessive-compulsive traits. The defense team also cited the cost of a death sentence and compared Worley's case to the trial of the man convicted of killing Reagan Tokes, where the jury spared the life of Brian Golsby.

Worley will be sentenced next week.
