Toledo Police Release Dash Cam Footage Of North Toledo Traffic Stop

TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo Police have released dash-cam footage from a weekend traffic stop that had gone viral on social media.

On Friday, September 6th, two detectives of the Toledo Police Gang Task Force conducted a traffic stop at Manhattan and Lagrange on a vehicle for illegal window tint. During the stop, it was discovered that the driver, Quinlan Cook, 22, had a suspended license. Both Cook and his passenger, 21-year-old Jabril Wyley, were removed from the vehicle. According to police, the twin sister of Wyley, 21-year-old Jannah Wyley, approached at that time on foot. Ms. Wyley was repeatedly asked to back away and refused. Police say she then escalated the situation and attempted to intervene when detectives attempted to handcuff her brother. She was taken to the ground and allegedly repeatedly punched one detective in the face.

Both appeared in court on Monday. Jabril Wyley has been charged with resisting arrest while his twin sister, Jannah, has been charged with assault on a police officer.

Video of the incident taken by a bystander who came upon the scene while both suspects were on the ground went viral over the weekend on social media. Toledo Police have released video from the dash-cam of the responding cruiser as part of their investigation into the incident.
