Jamie Foxx is opening up about the health scare that sent him to the hospital last year.

On Monday (July 1), a video surfaced on social of Foxx revealing new details about his hospitalization while speaking to fans at a restaurant in Phoenix.

After taking an Advil for a headache, Foxx said he woke up 20 days later with no memory of what happened.

“Look, April 11th last year, bad headache, asked my boy for an Advil [clicks fingers], I was gone for 20 days. I don’t remember anything,” Foxx said. “I’m in Atlanta, they told me — my sister and my daughter took me to the first doctor.

“The next doctor said, ‘There’s something going on up there,'” the actor continued as he pointed to his head. “I won’t say it on camera […] but it was…”

Foxx's family initially said a "medical complication" had landed the actor in the hospital in April 2023. In December, Foxx revealed that he "couldn't actually walk" amid the health scare.

“It feels good to be here. I cherish every single minute now. It’s different,” Foxx said while accepting the Vanguard Award at the Critics Choice Association’s Celebration of Cinema & Television: Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievements.

“I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy ’cause it’s tough when you almost… when it’s almost over, when you see the tunnel. I saw the tunnel. I didn’t see the light! It was hot in that tunnel so I didn’t know where I was going. ‘S***, am I going to the right place?’”

“I want to say six months ago I couldn’t fathom that this could happen or that I would be here, but as I walk up here to this microphone and get this Vanguard Award, all I can say is ‘Lord, have mercy, Jesus,’” he added.
