Shawn Mendes is setting the record straight on how he feels about his ex Camila Cabello following his appearance on Jay Shetty's "On Purpose" podcast, and an Ask Me Anything chat on X following.
During his appearance on "On Purpose," Mendes opened up about his current relationship with Cabello, explaining that "Camila and I have done the best job at preserving our private little fire of love for each other."
Following the podcast episode release, Shawn had answered a fan who wrote him on social media, "They don't play about each other," to which the singer replied, "No we don't."
Then, in an Ask Me Anything chat on X one fan said, "I feel like you need to clarify what you meant with your last tweet just so the general public and Camila's fandom don't take your words and make them into something you might not have intended, does that make sense?" Shawn shared, "I can do that" and replied back, "I guess to be honest it came from a place of being a little annoyed with all the projection over the last few months about us. I’m usually pretty good at just watching all the 'noise' go by but lately it’s been kinda bugging me feeling human I guess."
Shawn added, "And yeah part of me knows quoting a tweet and saying that is gunna start a little spin up and i guess to be honest part of me just wanted to address it and actually have a real honest relationship with you guys about how it feels from my side. I also would love to know how it feels for you."
Finally, Shawn concluded, "It’s pretty intimidating to come online and be honest and vulnerable considering how quickly our words can be twisted and used against us but tbh I really just care about having a real relationship with you guys where I got you and you got me and all the rest is just noise."
