Today the Imagination Station announced their plans for a new downtown amenity. They are adding a premium large format theater that will offer immersive experiences. KeyBank is a sponsor of the project and will have the naming rights. The plan is to feature 8-10 films per year. Plus special events, such as guest lectures, live connections with the space center, live feeds from national or international events, video gaming tournaments, movie marathons, seasonal family movie nights. The theater will be available for private parties.
Funding for the project comes from funding from the State of Ohio, and a large number of private donors. The theater is planned to open in 2020
