Twitter Erupted Over How This Couple 'Swaps' Sleeping Arrangements

INDIA-US-INTERNET-FACEBOOK

When you get in bed at night, especially if you share your bed with someone else, you have a pretty set routine, right? If you don't have a super set routine, you at least have a side of the bed that is yours, with your night stand, etc.

I thought this was pretty standard practice. And I still think it's standard, but someone on Twitter revealed that they and their partner do not have their own sides of the bed, and that they regularly "swap" and honestly, my mind is blown. And so is the rest of Twitter, who fully freaked out over this concept.

The Twitter panic began with this tweet from Steve O’Rourke, a writer from Dublin:

I did not know it was possible to see this widespread panic over how two random people sleep, but alas.

People responded saying that the tweet and concept gave them anxiety, and a #prayforsteve hashtag began circulating the site.

While most people absolutely panicked, some found the idea refreshing:

After seeing how much this shook people TO THEIR CORE, Steve decided to clarify some things with the fine people of Twitter:

They're totally normal people, they just... have different sleeping patterns.

I don't know, it still freaks me out! When my husband Michael and I moved into our new home, we had to switch sides of the bed (because he always sleeps closest to the door) and it took a while to adjust to! So I can't imagine what it would be like to regularly flip flop sides.

Does anyone else live this way? Or is Steve the lone ranger out there making a name for this strange swap arrangement?

I just have to believe I would constantly be forgetting where my phone charger is or hitting Michael when I'm looking to turn off my alarm!
