Tips For Getting Back To Socializing Again

It's probably been a while since you've been in a group of people, casually going about normal daily life and socializing with your friends without the worry of COVID, right? Right.

Well, now as more and more people become fully vaccinated and we are easing restrictions, socializing is becoming a normal thing again. And it turns out, we're all pretty out of "social" shape!

So here are some tips about how to return to normal socializing after a year of doing pretty much NONE. If you're forgotten how to be social, this is for you!

Ease Back Into Socializing & Make Some Changes

Remember to take it slow as you start going back into normal life! Too much socializing too soon may feel overwhelming, and you're going to get exhausted. and exhausting. Instead, resume your social life FIRST with just your inner circle and gradually expand from there. Before you know it, you'll be getting back together with people you haven't seen since the start of the panemic!

Bond Over The Discomfort

There's one thing that is true for everyone: we all lived through this global pandemic, and that's a shared experience to work with. Everybody else you will be seeing in the next few months and into the end of this year is in the same boat. Be honest about how difficult social interaction is now that you've gotten used to doing close to nothing.

Embrace New Socializing Rules & Rituals

Social protocols aren't really a thing in the new post-vaccinated world. Things like eye contact, or looking at your phone aren't going to be the same as before. These new rules are yet to be established post-pandemic, and we'll all adjust to them as we go.

I think the biggest thing for me, is that it will take time to get back into the nonstop lifestyle. Maybe we won't ever go back to having plans every single night of the week! But the fact that I used to go to events, concerts and dinners multiple times a week is mind-boggling to me!
