LA Wanted To Host The World Cup Final But It Might Not Be Possible Anymore!

The next FIFA World Cup is in 2026…and is being hosted by North America…so matches will be held in the US, Canada and Mexico…and SoFi Stadium wanted to host the final. But now that may not happen… because its field is not wide enough!

Apparently, they built the stadium with only American football in mind…and are now scrambling to see if there is anything they can do!

Could it be fixed? Possibly??? Sofi would have to increase the width of its field by up to 63 feet to meet FIFA’s requirement.

But to do that, they would have to take out some of seats…and that would put it under the 80,000 World Cup minimum (FIFA has a lot of rules).

So are we going to lose this bid? Mayyyybe!

MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and AT&T Stadium in Dallas are now considered the front-runners for the tourney's championship if SoFi can't figure out a way to resolve the issues. Just to give you a perspective. The 2022 World Cup Final between Argentina and France in December set the record for attendance with almost 89,000 soccer fans.
